Change of plan - as it's just Mark & I who are definites we are heading down to Gisburn to check out the new trails there, then dropping in at Stainburn on the way back for a play.

I was speaking to richard tonight and he mentioned he was probably going to join you boys on sun. We did most of this route in march so he knows his way around.

Sorry lads it looks like i may not make this now, I was supposed to be away camping in the lakes this weekend but due to the bad weather we postponed it, now it looks like i'll be going over with the family this weekend instead ruling me out.
enjoy it and if anything changes i'll be along

Aaron an epic by definition is a challenging ,long ,hard slog intended to test a riders skill and stamina to the utmost.

usually starting with a long uphill haul followed by a rewarding fast technical decent,
a good amount of technical offroad singletrack trail often through unmarked rough ground.
midway through there will invariable be another long climb and often a few shorter climbs .
All in all you have to have a good standard of basic ride ready fitness and a bike that is suitable for the task.

as you are a lot younger than most of the guys/girls who usually attend the erfd's you would have to bring along and parent or adult to take responsibility for you as the other riders would be unwilling to take responsibility for you .

my advice for you is to get along to a couple of the chopwell ride evenings to see if you can manage the terrain and pace then work up from there.

what sort of riding are these epic rides is there much uphill as my bike is terable for up hill as it only has one medium size chain ring

Sadly i cant make it either, as the previous evening is a friends 30th, and cheap beer. So i doubt i'll be fit to drive sunday am. :-(

Shall we go for the Alwinton route then as it's Chris' suggestion, I'd like to ride it and I know Mark will ride wherever I drive him to!

Anthony, you are welcome to join us, it's about 22 miles and 4000ft of climbing. Pace will be relaxed as I'll be acting as the brake at the back of the group and I'm as slow as you like uphill!
