The Border Raid at Kielder

May 5, 2012 from 8am to 2pm
The Border Raid is the second round of The Bike Place Marathon Series and is unique as it takes riders across the border into Scotland and back in one circuit of over 50kms. Using parts of the man made trails in Kielder and at Newcastleton with lots of interest in between - this is one not to be missed.The event is planned on the basis that each entrant is self-sufficient with regards to food and drink for the duration of the ride, and also in respect of minor repairs and punctures.The course…See More

The Winter Warmer at Kielder

The first of 3 rounds of the 2012 KTR/The Bike Place marathon series.Given the time of year, we run this over three shorter laps with a total of under 50kms. "Couldn't have put that any better Andy ! Lots of people give the blue trails a wide berth, but Osprey is great, they used it for the Kielder 100 and Octoberfest. Hope you have a good day Guy"

Montane Kielder 100 - 2011 at Kielder Forest Park, Kielder Castle, NE48 1ER

Britain's only 100 mile, single lap, mountain bike race being held at Kielder Forest & Water Park is back for 2011!The route will use a variety of manmade trails, tracks and fireroads in Kielder Forest and crosses the border into Scotland to use the Newcastleton 7Stanes trails. Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm a Saturation Diver, Its a great job as I work off shore and am lucky enough to be able to take time off to ride. I get 5- 6 months off a year.
After being offshore for 4-5 weeks you get back and its like starting all over again with your training. Getting better though with doing longer rides.
Iam married to my Wife Lynne who is ace, she is a fitness fanatic and a true source of inspiration to me in every thing I do. Our Son Adam is 19, 6' 5" talll and prefers lifting heavy weight as apposed to mtb ing but I'm still working on that one ! My goal this year is to finish the Kielder 100 in less than 10 hours.

Looking for any xc event in the North, first weekend in June. Best I can do is Rossendale for the "Hope xc Series".
