No probs Chris. Gunnerside ride didn't really happen for me: Kev got it into his head that the meeting point was Gunnerside for some reason and being as there was no mobile reception up there was a bit stuffed. For the first time in my life on a new ride I didn't take an OS map with me so just had an explore up the valley past the ruins and a play around up there. Will be going back sometime soon(ish)

Crispy I know your in full support for this eastgate thing, on the website http://www.weardale-works.co.uk/ on the " support for eastgate " page it has a variety of people who are obviously supporting the plans, mp's, teachers etc. For instance there's a guy there who is called Wayne Edy, managing director of specialist off-road running shoe company. What if we could get someone who has a mtb shop or sometin to get his face on there and show full support. That place is all about being green, and bikes totaly fit on it. That way I think it will have a greater influence on decision makings towards mtb. I think they've stopped the cable car because of sight pollution.

Love that picture Crispy, no you went the right way we ride hardcore in this valley;-)
I think you may have gone off line a little bit, it did make me chuckle I came down that in about 2 foot of snow when I first moved down here 19 years ago I nearly died!
Do call in with map and sharp pencil

Hi chris looking at doing a ride at hamsterley, including the red loop/poss black but i was looking at incorporating some moorland outside of the forest, have you got any routes that match that description i've only done the red/black loops before so i'm unaware of what else is around there. I'm looking at about 3 1/2 - 4 hrs of riding nothing too extreme like downhill sections.
cheers
chris

Trip to the dales

Mark, Nigel & I had a couple of days down in the dales Mon / Tue this week.

First day we rode the classic "Scar House Reservoir" ride which was brilliant, apart from a flurry of punctures in the last few miles of the ride. After a couple of flats between Mark & I on the 2nd to last descent, we hit the final descent and I managed to pinch flat on the top section, and then after hitting a very rocky section at pretty much full speed I managed to get 2 pinch flats in the front and 5 or 6 i… Continue

Photo Session

Just gauging interest to see how many would be interested in a session at Hamsterley to get some professional pics taken of them riding?

I've spoken with Oliver Coates and we would need to get a minimum of about 10 people with an intention to buy some pics, ideally a few more.

We would then session a number of spots so that Oliver can make… Continue
