I think this was all tied in with the new visitors centre etc - not sure what's happening with that.

I think the new bit from the 4X and also the bit they are going to be doing from the mast near 5 lane ends are part of a seperate push / funding drive, but could be wrong.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Kiwi on May 12, 2009 at 8:43pm: The £5.5 million project is the total vision of Hamsterley (ie a bit of a dream). This mostly comprises of fancy visitors centres and other non trail things. The budget for bike trails was about £500k, but Trailblazers were expected to raise this money. After several years of struggling due to the politics of the £5.5million project we have managed to unlock a couple of pots of cash to get £80k which we are spending at the moment, on the areas that Crispy mentioned. This will not build all that much, contractor built trail is v.expensive.

Trailbuilding is this Sat 10am, meet at Wood n Wheels. Turn up to 4 trailbuilds and you get a free 2010 parking permit.; ▶ Reply to This
