MTB North East

Everything about Mountain Biking in the North East of England

Anyone else got this issue? I fancy tackling one of these routes before the weather gets too crappy to make riding out in the Cheviots fun. They're all based around Barrowburn - see scanned map (apologies to Future Publishing for nicking it). Anyone interested or does Crispy want to make this an ERFD? Possibly the 26/27 Sept.

i know the area very well and its fantastic riding and would be glad to go out with you and do this route, if your looking at doing the orange route from alwinton it would probably take 5-6 hrs.
not sure about the dates you've suggested as my missus is away, but i'm def up for the ride.

I did this ride a few weeks ago, its very good, but fairly tough. Took me about 5 - 6 hours. Could be difficult at the moment after all the rain that we have had, you really want some half decent weather if you are going that far into the cheviots. Fantastic views on the border ridge, but lots and lots of climbing. (which I don't mind)
