Everything about Mountain Biking in the North East of England

Hi all,

Any body know anything about the NDH Trailbike DH to be held at hamsterley in may?

Just wondering if anybody knows which trail it's being run on and if there's any chance you can ride a trail bike down descend hamsterley to get some practice in? wouldn't mind a crack at it.

Hi guys,

The event is for trail bikes, so whatever bike you d use for a ride round hamsterley or at glentress will do you fine. There will be no climbing so those with dh bikes will be able to race but it won t be the optimal bike but if that's what you ve got that ll be fine. The format will be like a dh race so practise with uplift on the morning and race run\s on the afternoon. I can t say where the trail is but its not at the descent bike park, but I m sure you ll have rode it plenty. Any questions just ask

cheers for that. do you need a provisional or full licence to take part?

No a liscense is not required. You do not need a license to race any of our events

Spot on. Thanks for the help.

Hi Jonny I'm going to hamsterley on Friday mate and will be calling in to see Craig and joe about riding an xc bike on the downhill if you ain't already been I'll let you no what they say mate

Hi Glen  I m sure Craig will have no problem with you riding an xc bike on the descend trails as long as you sign in with him.

Nice one thanks mate I'll be calling in to see Craig tomorrow about having a blast should be a bit quieter to give it a try and not in in the way of the big boys and the NDH at hamsterley will be my first comp so looking forward to that as well

will be mine to mate should be a couple of us doing it, just trying to talk a few of my mates into it. Still fancy a go on descend as i might do the 1 2 1 later in the year. looking at the video of it from last year it's on the trail that starts at the top 4x then turns right after the first few jumps. i don't think that trail gets as much as use as the others so might be the best option for having a go on.

Same here mate I'm trying to get a few of my mates to have a go especially the ones that give the big I can do that no bother ha ha called there on Friday but no one was there there was cars there so guessing they were on a lift or something so just did the black rout

Iv had a look at the video of last years 121 and looks like it should be good fun don't think it's the full in downhill so out xc bikes should be ok spoke to them from the descend and they are happy for the tracks to be done in a xc bike just won't be as fast as the dh bikes and would be better to hit outher lines that would be better suited to the bike mate
