Hi guys, just a quick question, my son (12) is mad on downhill riding and to be honest does seem to have some skill in that area. We live in Longframlington Northumberland so have access to Thrunton where he really hammers his Kona Stuff down the trials, my question is how do we get him started in formal competition with other novices in the NE?
Thanks in advance
Steve
I just looked in the british cycling hand book, Their min age for racing is the fun category from 12 onwards, and then juvenile from 12th birthday until 31st december of the year of 14th birthday.
As mark says, a chat with craig will point you in the right directions.
And keep an eye out for what they call "timed practice runs" at wooler common, Its basically an informal race. But if he's never been there before it will sharpen his skills up jolly quick
