Just has an email about the next planning meeting regarding the development of the Weardale Works and Quarries and other Lafarge Land at Eastgate.

It is to be held on the 29th of September at County Hall, Durham @ 2pm...

Just letting people know about it encase they haven't heard etc...
will post plans (if i can find em) in a min...

Doubtful - qtr end is not a great time for me to get away during the day. Hopefully it will be approved although even if it is I doubt it will be going ahead in the near future as I can't imagine funding / investors are going to be easy to come by at the moment. You never know though....

yeah hope it does get approved and there seem to be enough people behind it so that might help...
also didn't someone announce that the railway is gonna be reopened up? dunno if i read it here or somewhere else..

One of my work mates was down at the rail track today repairing the BT cables and a train came up from Bishop, turns out they are repairing the line all the way from Bishop Auckland up to Eastgate. Trying to boost the tourist attracions in the area.

Is the pdf plans for a what is to be bike park, or does this thing already exist? O.O cable car :D long dh, short dh xc etc ... looks amazing - if it's new plans when do they think it will be totaly built?

Great news! So long as no one appeals against the decision. With finding the funds / finalising the designs I'd reckon it's going to be at least a year before they start on site and looking at the site plan I'd say it's going to take at least another year to get it built. Probably longer.

Hopefully they'll build the trails first so we can ride them as they build all the rest of it but I doubt it. But as soon as it is I'll be there...
