Lee, i reckon your best option is to swap your house insurance. To one that will cover bikes. i use marks and spencer, they cover any 1 bike upto £4000 in and away from home. If i was to insure my bikes seperately it would cost me a fortune. Barclays used to cover but changed the max limit to £1000. I cahnged to m&s and my premium only went up by £90 from barclays. So much cheaper than bike insurance.

To put into perspective.I pay £308 fully comp for my 2.0ltr 307 Stationwagon and have 6 points on my license.I use it everyday and average 20000plus miles a year.
So i'd say £234 a year is steep.

Have to agree with Jim. We've got ours on our more than house insurance and the extra was only around £20 (haven't got the exact figure to hand) to cover any bike to the value of £1200. Only helps if you've got a house though...

Another vote for M&S home insurance and their any item up to £4000 cover.

M & S. Simply the best no hassle cover for bikes. Like Jim says, upto £4000 per bike anywhere in the world.
