I'm looking to stock up on a bit of bad weather clothing, but I'm caught in two minds about which way to go:
a) Get a soft shell thats windproof / a bit waterproof, and a cheapy waterproof for torrential stuff that I can keep in my rucksack. (I was thinking something like the endura air defence and a Gill Morph)
b) Get a single waterproof jacket such as the Endura Superlight
The jackets I've mentioned are not the final ones I want, just an example of the sort of thing I've looked at, so any suggestions are welcome! Either option will cost me approx £80
i just bought a race face quantam team
windproof, waterproof fairly light weight and it was 60 english pounds from crc
dunno if thats the kinda thing ur afta but id recommend it
iv just got a endura air defense and its amazing, its wind proof, waterproof (i bought some waterproofing wash stuff) also very warm, and an even bigger bonus its on sale at evans cycles, £49.99
I got a Gill freedom jacket in the wiggle sale and it is rather good imho. With regards to soft shells m&m direct had a regatta one for a fiver!! I got one for walking and wanted to get another for biking in but they had all gone :(
I ve been using a gore soft shell excellent fit and you can wear it on its own without a base layer.I use this with a light waterproof and find this combination works excellent, although the cost is a little more! it does seem to regulate the body heat good.
Went for the Endura Air Defence and a Montane Velo in the end (got them in Evans at the Metrocentre today). Managed to pick up the wrong size Velo though so will have to pop back in and change it.
Impressed with the air defence so far, but I'll report back once I've used it in anger.
