MTB North East

Everything about Mountain Biking in the North East of England

To set the scene
I cycled to Sunderland today (why lol) and as I rode past the stadium of shite My rear tyre punctured (bummer).
undeterred I walked into the city centre to frequent one of the local bike shops for a repair this is where it begins .

First shop on my route was Sunderland Cycle centre /Cycleworld
I strolled into the newly refurbished shop and was greeted by one not to keen staff member and a grumpy bloke who seemed to be in charge.
still undeterred I enquired if a rapid repair was available stating that I was far from home and a wee bit desperate to get it done sharpish.
I was told it would take half an hour and could I leave the bike and go for a stroll (strange)

then with not so much as a mask and pistols he demanded no less than £7.50 labour charge to fit an ffing innertube.
Not a hope matey I will try elswhere I said ,grumpy just looked on in disgust
and I left

not 10 yards away is darkes cycles (the shop I was hunting for anyway)
popped my head in the door and mentioned my dilemma,
come in mate was the smiling reply I'll sort for you right now .
not 3 mins later Jamie Lee was back on her wheels and ready to roll and all for theprice of a tube and a couple of quid to fit it.

as a bonus I sorted out A new shop for our nefa discount card
so from now on if your'e in Sunderland Gan to Darkes.
