The Border Raid is the second round of The Bike Place Marathon Series and is unique as it takes riders across the border into Scotland and back in one circuit of over 50kms. Using parts of the man made trails in Kielder and at Newcastleton with lots of interest in between - this is one not to be missed.
The event is planned on the basis that each entrant is self-sufficient with regards to food and drink for the duration of the ride, and also in respect of minor repairs and punctures. The course will be marked with Day Glow Arrows, and will be made up of Forest roads, green roads and man made singletrack.
Solo entries only for this event, due to being one large single lap course.

Comment by Stingray. on April 24, 2012 at 15:26 Done dalby nps at the weekend and conditions were bad. Race turned into a real hard slog. legs feel like lead at the moment and cant even think about putting in a good performance at the border raid. going to take things easy this week. Will be putting in a good 50mile ride on saturday morning. Then going to hit Hamsterly on monday morning to polish up on my technical skills and put in some big climbs. Hopefully by the following saturday i will be fired up for this one. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. bring it on. Cant throw away all that hard work i put in at the WW.
All signed up let's get ready to rock n roll!
